Australias best loved poets.

When we think of our best loved poets, the big four might first come to mind.

Patterson and Lawson, Gordon and Kendall. They have stood the test of time.

I first learned their verses while I was still at school

Though that was many years ago, their writings , for, me still appeal.

Then I thought about other poets whose names are not so well known

how their verses may be remembered for sentimental reasons alone.

We are proud of our Australian poets, and they are deserving of our praise

their poems often are a reflection of our Australian habits and ways.
